Blue Bottle II Launch
Last week saw the launch of Blue Bottle II, a Scimitar 1010.
Owner, Rodney Wiley wanted a boat that doubled as a fishing vessel for mates and a weekend haven for he and his wife, children & grand children. With his busy schedule all communication throughout the project was by email and the Boat Style Turn Key service ensured everything would be ready for him to step aboard and set off on Blue Bottle’s maiden voyage.
His brief was for a sleek, elegant interior that could handle the rigors of the marine environment and the grand children.
The line between indoor & out has now been blurred, with greater choices of furnishing fabrics that function beautifully on deck and are soft and sumptuous enough for below. Boat Style uses indoor/outdoor fabrics from many of the world’s top designers such as Nautica, Ralph Lauren, Trina Turk & Joe Ruggiero.
Wiley says the finished product exceeded his expectations.
“I was immediately impressed, what made the difference was Sarah’s boating experience combined with the design. What worked on boats and what didn’t. She must have listened, I didn’t reject any of the design concepts she presented at our first meeting.”
Sarah Egan says the hallmark of her design service is, “Listening carefully to clients and delivering a bespoke interior that reflects their expectations and needs.”
“I also like knowing my clients are falling asleep between soft sheets after a big day on the water.”
For Blue Bottle II a sophisticated palette of indigo, silver & charcoal, fabrics from American designer, Tommy Bahama & the Sunbrella’s European range were used.
